Bijou’s Big Break By Amanda Horton Student reporter POLYTECH Senior Bijou Schaeffer may be looking at stardom in her future as a videographer.Bijou recently made a short film with YouTube sensation SWooZie which has gone viral. Bijou is in the Nursing Assisting shop but is looking towards a new career in media. Bijou’s video is officially going viral with 310,273 hits and counting on December 3, 2014. She may be getting one big break to stardom. Bijou was contacted by sWooZie, a YouTube video blogger, to shoot a Kung Fu video. He then traveled from Florida to Delaware where they shot the video at Yoon’s Martial Arts studio. POLYTECH’s Broadcast Media teacher Mr. Jason Gleockler said that “the framing type that Bijou used in her video is much like the one that students use here at POLYTECH; however her edits are faster paced than the ones used at POLYTECH for the Panther Pause News. “I’ve had some students that have made videos on their own time for their own enjoyment that are just like the one Bijou made,” he said. Bijou’s video already has over 200,000 views after one day on YouTube. This one big break could definitely send Bijou down the road of stardom. “It took a lot of preparation for the video, but once we were ready to shoot the video it only took about a day for everything to all come together.” Macky Trabaudo, the admissions director at POLYTECH, said he was excited for her. “All it takes is one big break, and you’re set for the future,” Mr. Trabaudo said. Bijou’s video is growing in views every minute. Her hard work has definitely paid off. Everyone who has seen her video is absolutely amazed with how well it is put together and how much work she put in to the video.
