Biking Life Biking is a way of life in Amsterdam. A little - TopicsExpress

Biking Life Biking is a way of life in Amsterdam. A little over 70 percent ride bicycles every day regardless of the weather. Only 30 percent still use cars. Bike safety is taught regularly in the elementary schools. Most of the kids start biking from age 3 on up. There are very few traffic lights in that city because the folks intuitively interact with each other. You will notice the lack of helmets. They are frowned upon in most of the European countries. You usually see them in the USA and almost all national and international sporting events. Helmets are a pretty good idea for biking in the USA because a lot of drivers are not bike-savvy as they are in other countries. Texas and Florida have the worst records for auto/bicycle accidents. I expect to see a new interest in bicycling in the USA catching on as many people start appreciating the massive health benefits of this healthy lifestyle. The biking consciousness is quickly catching on in New York, Chicago, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona and a few other states. Austin Texas has recently completed the addition of new biking trails. Ive crossed the Pacific fourteen times, have yet to cross the Atlantic. When I do Amsterdam is at the very top of my bucket list, followed by Italy. https://vimeo/77084110
