Biking (reading, writing, sharing) People who know me also know - TopicsExpress

Biking (reading, writing, sharing) People who know me also know that I like to ride bikes. It is my favorite way to see the world. I dont like to go long distances, instead I like to use bicycles to explore an area. In Bangladesh, I often road 50 km to go to some villages and then have lunch at the beach. In Chicago, I usually bike about 25-30 km every day. Id like to use this post as a chance to help people with their reading skills in English and also as a chance to help people write and share ideas. Do you like riding bicycles? Is it easy to do where you live? What are some of the best things about biking in your opinion? If you dont ride a bicycle very much, why? Can you share some stories with us? Maybe you can write about how you learned to ride a bike. Who taught you? How old were you? What parts of this were easy and what parts hard? What about your dreams? In this photo, we see someone whos asleep and dreaming, but Im talking more about hopes=dreams. Where would you like to go and bike around? Just two days ago, I was reading about biking in the Maldives, a small island nation in the Indian Ocean. Id also love to bike in Senegal, in West Africa, and also in Brazil. The best places to bike are those that are flat (no mountains and not many hills), not too crowded, and with good roads. Most of the places Ive lived the past 20 years have been good for biking. Chicago and Florida in the US are both flat. Boston is less flat, but generally mostly flat. I lived for one year in Vietnam. Many places in Vietnam have a lot of mountains, but not where I lived. And then I lived for two years in Bangladesh, which is very flat. All of these places were good for biking. Yesterday, I biked from just 15 km. I am now in Coxx Bazar, Bangladesh, and this is a small city on the sea. I biked along a country road that goes between some low hills to the east and the sea to the west. It was wonderful! The weather was warm and sunny, but not hot. The tide was going out, so the sand on the beach was clean and fresh. And the best thing about riding a bike is that its easy to meet people. I have biked on this same road about ten times now, so many people recognize me. Bangladeshis are very friendly, so whenever I stop to take a picture or to drink water, people want to talk with me. And even when I dont stop, people call out to me. Several times every minute, I am greeted by strangers. In my experience, Bangladesh is the friendlies country in the world, and biking is the best way to see Bangladesh. Maybe not to see the bike Dhaka and Chittagong, but the best way to see villages and the medium-sized cities. So, please take a minute or two and write about bicycles and you. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=977573135606097&set=a.179547078742044.45875.100000602580934&type=1&theater
