Bill Frear, North Palm Beach Letter: Let Patrick Murphy finish the work hes started As a former registered Republican, I have a lot of wry gratitude for tea party Republicans. Their platform has caused the Democratic Party to shift from being a party of ideologues to one that supports and understands reality-oriented positions, specifically the realities of economy, commerce, and business — the backbone of our country. As a resident of Floridas 18th Congressional District, Carl Domino would be a fitting addition to our present Congress, which is often characterized as extremely negative, lethargic and weighted down by partisan gamesmanship. Unfortunately we have some real problems both here on the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches and nationwide. These problems will not be solved by vicious attacks. In fact they will only be made worse. What we must be focusing on are our veterans and seniors, our entrepreneurs and small businesses, and our environment. There are two parts to the equation that must balance, and one cannot exist without the other. Effective leadership requires thoughtfulness and understanding followed up with positive action and a forward thinking approach. Patricia Metro-Patrick
