Bill Murray is shown here hunting in the El Paso Mountains. The area is rich in rabbits and Chukar, an Eurasian Partridge. When we first staked our 160 acre gold claim in Last Chance Canyon in the early 80’s, we approached the experience as an expression of freedom. The idea that one could mine gold from the earth as it fed us was exhilarating. We studied the desert plants, and harvested flora useful for food and medicine. We approached hunting as a sacred and interaction with the Great Spirit. We adopted Native American religion of rituals and chanting, and played cowboys and Indians with big boy toys. This was about Gold, Guns, and God.
