Bill Williams posted, Contrary to what some people believe and practice, the Lord does not have Apostles on earth today. A simple understanding of what is required to be an Apostle of the Lord will suffice to show that there are no Apostles today. The requirements to be an Apostle of the Lord includes the requirement to have seen the resurrected Lord. Since no one today has seen the Lord, then there can be no Apostles, the claims of some notwithstanding.Yes Bill, the Apostle Paul said, "And he gave some, apostles....."Eph 4:11 (KJV) And it seem like the scripture give us the names of the some! "And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor." Luke 6:13-16 (KJV) Paul said, "Am I not an apostle? am I not free? HAVE I NOT SEEN JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD? are not ye my work in the Lord? If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord." 1 Cor 9:1-2 (KJV) "when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes..." Acts 14:14 (KJV) "That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles." Acts 1:25-26 (KJV) "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone." Eph 2:20 (KJV) NOW WHO ELSE IS AN APOSTLE ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE? Truth In Love
