Bill and I met up with Michael Lockhart at this years last H & 8th . . . happening? Oh, street festival! It was amazing . . . we tried authentic ramen from Kaiteki Ramen (ramen NOT from a brick--what a concept!--and flavored with all sorts of Japanese stuff), the worlds best (and probably the biggest) egg roll from Taste of Soul Egg Roll, ice cream from Roxys--they ought to boot the folks out of the old Kaisers building and take over; theyve got some awesome ice cream and thats what needs to be there if the Kaisers folks cant--its tradition. Smoky Okies was there, too, with their smokehouse on wheels . . . they had a frito chili pie made with brisket that smelled wonderful. Plus there was probably another 20 or so more food trucks and other vendors all over the place, along with live music, too. Anyway, H & 8th is one of those things that you would never in a million years expect to find in Oklahoma City. They wont be back until the last Friday in March 2014, but I highly recommend checking it out. (Oh, its on Hudson (thats the H) between NW 6th and NW 8th.) BTW a lot of food trucks take credit/debit cards . . . it is 2013, after all, not ancient history like 2005 or something . . .
