Billy Magnussen’s World Turns! Set to Replace Jake Gyllenhaal In Film Adaptation Of Into The Woods! Former As the World Turns star, Billy Magnussen (Ex-Casey) has had a magnificent year after first receiving rave reviews and accolades and a Tony nomination for his performance on Broadway in the play Vanya And Sonia And Masha And Spike. However, now comes word today via Deadline, that Billy is set to replace Jake Gyllenhaal in the motion picture adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s musical, Into The Woods! Magnussen is in final negotiations to replace Gyllenhall for Disney and director Rob Marshall. He will play Rapunzel’s prince in the Marc Platt-produced adaptation of the stage musical. Billy joins a film that shoots in London this fall with cast that includes ready for it … Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine, Anna Kendrick, James Corden and Emily Blunt.
