Biography: Sungha Jung SUNGHA JUNG was born in Cheongju, Korea September 2, 1996. He began playing the acoustic guitar at the age of 10 under the influence of his father who had been an avid listener of acoustic instrumental music. He graduated from Cheongshim International Academy (Junior High, located in Kyung-Gi, Korea) in February 2012 and passed the national GED test April 2013. With absolutely no formal musical education, he learned his guitar skill solely from watching other musician’s videos on the Internet earlier years. Since his father opened up a personal channel for the son on Youtube in September 2006, Sungha Jung has garnered over 770 million views and 2.3 million subscribers worldwide with his performance videos as of November 2013. The unprecedented and phenomenal success on Youtube as an instrumentalist undoubtedly helped his musical career take off offline too. His recording career began in 2010 with debut CD [PERFECT BLUE] and to date, the artist has released 4 full-length studio albums under the label SUNGHA JUNG MUSIC: [IRONY, September 2011], [THE DUETS, December 2012], and [PAINT IT ACOUSTIC, April, 2013. Since 2009, Sungha Jung has performed at numerous notable domestic/international music fairs/events/festivals such as Frankfurt MusikMesse(2009) and Titanic II World Launching Galas/press conference(2013), and also collaborated with many prominent international musicians of all different genres of music including Jason Mraz (USA), Tommy Emmanuel (Australia), Trace Bundy (USA), and G-Dragon (Korea) to name a few. It is remarkable that world-renowned pop musician Jason Mraz created and uploaded a tribute film for Sungha Jung after the musician finally met his “guitar hero” in Seoul in May 2013: youtube/watch?v=Kf3oIRk2HuQ . Beginning with Finland, January 2010, Sungha Jung has had solo concert tours in over 15 countries all over Asia as well as USA, France and Germany.
