Bioluminescence in Saint Lucie County? We saw a report about the Bio in the paper and sure enough its here. Its hard to photograph or video due to the poor lighting at night, but it was an amazing experience to see from a motorized kayak. Its an interesting phenomena that occurs with warmer water temps. The water actually glows. This phenomenon is caused by tiny bioluminescent plankton, and when movement occurs, streaks of blue light can be seen. Fish look like blue comets, and the water around your kayak and paddle glows as you move along. Anyone interested in going out with us to try and see it again on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights, call us to reserve a spot at 772.380.6815 or email us at motorizedkayak@gmail. The cost is $30.00 per person. We will meet at promptly 7:30pm at the Bear Point John Brooks Riverside Canoe Launch at 2601 S. Ocean Drive, Fort Pierce, FL. Thats on South Hutchison Island on the west side of the road. https://google/maps/place/2601+S+Ocean+Dr,+Fort+Pierce,+FL+34949/@27.4300614,-80.2808075,14z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x88def07721124749:0xb4bd4a3f86927370?hl=en Seating will be limited to the first 8 callers per each night. Figure being in the water for about 1- 1/2 hours. Wear clothes that can get wet. Bear in mind theres no guarantee that bio plumes will be there, but its worth the chance just to see this.
