Bio’s Rally: Jittery Sen. Ahmed Mohammed begs supporters to Back Saraki Our reporter A former member of the Senate representing Kwara North senatorial district, Sen. Ahmed Mohammed has appealed to his supporters to remain loyal to a former Governor of the state, Sen. Bukola Saraki. Sen. Ahmed stated this earlier in the week at his private residence in Ilorin, while addressing a handful of his supporters from Baruten and Kaiama local government areas of the state. A source that is close to Sen. Ahmed disclosed to E-kwara that the meeting was called to starve off threat posed by Hon. Bio Ibrahim in the senatorial district. He stated that the former legislator was rattled by the mammoth crowd that greeted Mr. Bio Ibrahim during the latter’s last visit to his home town. “It was as a result of that, and the threat of some of his core supporters to ditch him for the PDP that made him to hurriedly call an emergency meeting in his house for brainstorming.” Our source revealed that the Senator was practically on his kneels begging his people not to abandon Bukola Saraki ‘at this critical time…because he is fighting for everybody”, he was quoted as saying. Mr. Bukola Saraki’s political camp across the state is witnessing its biggest threat ever, since the defection of Mr. Saraki to the opposition APC. While Mr. Bio Ibrahim, Aliru Dantsoho and a host of other big names are holding forth in the north of Kwara, Prof. Oba Abdulraheem and Sen. Gbemisola Saraki are firmly in control of the central. Incidentally, Sen. Gbemisola is Mr. Bukola Saraki’s immediate sister, yet they do not see eye to eye.
