Bird is the word: Thursday, November 13, 1913 Local meat dealers state that the supply of turkeys for the Thanksgiving demand will be lighter than usual and it is anticipated that high prices will prevail. Many dealers are already making arrangements to secure their stock of the fowls for the rush which will be on within 10 days. Although no definite estimate can be made at this time, it is feared that last years prices of 25 cents per pound for dressed turkeys and 23 cents for the live fowls will be eclipsed this year.
