BirdLife on new measures put in place to tackle cross-border smuggling of protected birds. Notably those measures referred to below are based around inter-agency co-operation. Wildlife crime - and its stating the obvious to say so, but sometimes these things need repeating - requires a co-operative approach. Our big NGOs need to work together, and the myriad of supporting groups below them need not only to cooperate with larger NGOs but be encouraged by them. In essence that is the nub of our Three Rs (Recognise, Record, Report) campaign - its only by all working together that we can beat wildlife crime, and drag wildlife criminals out into the open where they can face public scrutiny and proper justice.
