Birds & Bugs 2013 Sponsorship Request Help make this year’s Birds & Bugs event fantastic by sponsoring supplies! Birds & Bugs is a free, public Wildlife Discovery Event created by Les Fruits de Mer, where St. Martin residents and visitors of all ages can see and learn about the amazing birds and invertebrates living in the broadleaf forest. The event will include birding tours of the forest guided by experts, a bird education station, a bug discovery station, and local wildlife-themed art activities for children. The first annual Birds & Bugs event will take place at Loterie Farm on the western slope of Pic Paradis on Saturday, December 7th from 9am to noon. The event is brought to you by Les Fruits de Mer, Environmental Protection in the Caribbean and Loterie Farm. The other 10% depends on sponsorship assistance from leaders in the local community like you. To make this event as great as it can be, we’re seeking sponsorship for supplies for the event, including: - Art supplies for our children’s activity area. Current activities being considered include decorating bird feeders made from calabashes, coloring and activity pages and clay sculpture. - Printing of handouts and on-site posters, including bird checklists, informational signage at our bird and bug stations and logistical signage. - T-shirts for volunteers so guests with questions can spot them easily. - Additional binoculars for our birding tours, which would also be used at future bird events like our Migratory and Endemic Bird Festivals. - Free drinking water for guests. - Other supplies as needed for event activities and logistics.
