Birthday Surprise. Date - December 31, 2016. Catherine awoke on the cold, musty, old cabin, ran downstairs to find the rest of the family getting geared up for New Years. But more importantly(at least in her mind) her birthday. Catherine jumped the last two steps, narrowly hitting her head on the ceiling, and landed making a large /clump/. Hey honey, happy birthday! Meryl said giving a kiss to Catherines cheek. Morning mom, thank you. Catherine said with a smile. Youre very welcome Meryl stuck her thumb out to the Christmas tree, revealing more present boxes. You got stuff to open honey. Your father will be joining us soon. Meryl cooed. Catherine looked around the room and asked Wheres Katnis? Shes outside with your father. Meryl said rolling her eyes. Doing...? Catherine asked, afraid of the answer Meryl waved her hand outside Feeding those wolf-dogs. Wolf-dogs?! Catherine shouted as she darted for the door, wrestling her coat on. Hey! You forgot your- Meryl started to say, but stopped as Catherine was already outside. She found Katnis and Jack playing with the new litter of puppies. Jack noticed Catherine walking up. Hey rookie, happy birthday. Catherine wrapped him in a hug, pleased to no end Thanks dad. Happy birthday! Katnis shouted trying to keep her laughter to a minimum as a couple puppies knocked Katnis down and started licking her. Where are the parents? Catherine asked Jack Jack nodded to the shadow of the treeline to the forest. For the first time she noticed the glowing yellow eyes of two wolf-dogs. Theyre always watching Jack said in a spooky tone. Do they care were playing with the puppies? Catherine asked If they did, theyd do something about it. Jack said taking a sip of coffee. Catherine picked up one of the puppies, kissed it on the head and asked Can we bring one home? Ask your mother. Jack said watching Katnis get tackled again. But shell say no. Catherine said, giving the puppy a pouty face Exactly. Jack smirked. Catherine sighed Sorry boy, I cant take ya home. The puppy licked Catherines face as she put him on the ground to rejoin his siblings. Katnis laid a kiss on Catherines lips and said Happy birthday! Thanks Catherine blushed Come on you two. The rookies got presents to open. Jack said putting an arm around Catherines shoulder. Once inside, Meryl handed both Catherine and Katnis each a cup of hot chocolate. Catherine chugged it down and smiled Thanks mom. No problem honey. Meryl said with a happy nod. Katnis shouted Come on! Open your presents! Katnis flocked Catherine to the couch and forced a box into her hand. Catherine gave Katnis an evil eye and asked Whatd you put in here...a bomb? Just open it dummy! Katnis shouted Catherine looked at the name tag which stated it was from Katnis and Jack, She opened it to find two dog tags inside. Upon examination she found they read PLISKIN, CATHERINE. While the other one read SNAKE,BLACK. Thanks you two! Catherine said with a smile. I got one more for you kid. Close your eyes. Jack said as he dug into his leather jacket. Catherine did as she was told. She felt something placed her head.. Alright rookie. Jack said. When she opened her eyes she found a black bandanna wrapped around her head. Catherine dove into her fathers arms and said Thank you so much.
