Birthday remembrance to Weldon Irvine (October 27, 1943 – April 9, 2002). He was a composer, playwright, poet, pianist and organist. He wrote the lyrics for the song, Young Gifted and Black, along with a further 500 plus songs. He also recorded over 10 Jazz -Funk albums under his own name, that have been sampled by many. He has also worked and collaborated with, Don Blackman, Lenny White, Tony Wiles*, Napoleon Revels, Sonny Fortune,The Friends Of Distinction & Jimmy Owens. GARY
