Bishop David Oyedepo Set To Celebrate 60th Birthday On Saturday, 27th September 2014, the highly-respected General Overseer/President of the world-famous Living Faith Church Worldwide Inc. (aka Winners Chapel International), Bishop David Oyedepo will clock 60 years. Though there is no official statement yet on how the distinguished man of God will celebrate the day, City People can tell you that his teeming millions of church members are so excited and look forward to this day. Let’s quickly tell you more about Bishop David Oyedepo. He was born on 27th September 1954 in Osogbo, Osun state capital. He grew up in Osogbo with his grandmother who taught him the virtues of Christian life. And he became born-again in 1969 through the influence of his teacher, Betty Lasher. Bishop David Oyedepo studied Architecture at the Kwara State Polytechnic and later worked with the Federal Ministry of Housing before he resigned to concentrate on missionary work. He later obtained a Ph.D. in Human Development from Honolulu University, Hawaii, United States. He founded Living Faith Church in 1981; the church was first called “Liberation Faith Hour Ministries” following his encounter with God in a vision that lasted for 18 hours where God revealed the mission of Living Faith Church to him, with the message, “To Liberate the world from all oppression of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith”. Thirty-three years after, Bishop David Oyedepo has emerged one of the world’s biggest men of God. A philanthropist with an excellent business acumen, he is the founder and Chancellor of Covenant University, Landmark University, Faith Academy and Kingdom Heritage Schools. He is also the Chairman/Publisher of the Dominion Publishing House, and the Dominion Radio. Bishop David Oyedepo is happily married to Pastor Faith Oyedepo; and they are blessed 4 successful children: David Jr. (Resident Pastor of Winners Chapel International, London); Isaac Oyedepo (Resident Pastor of Winner’s Chapel International in South Africa); Love, and Joys.
