Article Foundation in Arts Foundation in Arts: Preparing students for Degree studies in KLMUC Making the academic transition after SPM to higher education can be easy if you make the necessary preparation. The Foundation in Arts at KLMUC is a pre-university programme specially designed for SPM school leavers who are keen to take up selected degree programmes in KLMUC namely Business, Hospitality and Tourism Management. The foundation will help equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required in their chosen field of studies. The early training also develops students’ communication (written and spoken), critical thinking and problem-solving skills before they enter for their undergraduate studies. This training is necessary to give students the competitive edge to meet the employment market demand. On top of that, students are required to take compulsory subjects stipulated by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) – National Language, Islamic or Moral Studies and Malaysian Studies. The Foundation is a full time course that takes 1 year to complete (3 semesters). The minimum entry requirement is SPM or SPMV with at least 5 credits in any subjects. Upon completion, students have a choice to further their degree studies, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in the field of Accounting & Finance, Business & Entrepreneurship Development, E-Business, Administrative Management, Marketing, Hotel & Convention Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management and Tourism Management.
