Bismillah Wa Salatu wa sallam ala rasullilahi wa ala aalihi wa ahlihi ajmaeen I just want to share a naseeha with everyone and myself first. We always stress about money, when will I get rich, how will I get rich, and so on. We are constantly looking for more, even though we have what we need to survive. When will this hunger for more end? Sahih Bukhari 447: Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allahs Apostle said, If Adams son had a valley full of gold, he would like to have two valleys, for nothing fills his mouth except dust. And Allah forgives him who repents to Him. The reason I am making this status is because, tonight I was conversing with a brother, close friend of my mine and we had a deep discussion. After the discussion I left and was alone just contemplating what we spoke about. The discussion we had was about money, and having a career. The state of mind I had was I need to get wealthy and rich. But I then remembered the hadith. Sahih Bukhari 6081 Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Richness is not having many possessions. Rather, true richness is the richness of the soul.” If I had 1 million dollars, and I had a poor soul Id feel broke. Yet I can have 1 dollar and feel rich. I dont literally mean 1 dollar is enough to support a family. My point I am trying to make here is evident in this. I once asked my principal when I was in grade 10 how much he made. He told me 100,000 dollars, I replied to him DAMN YO You rich! He told me he wasnt and that after he pays his mortgage and his bills and after taxes he has a little left. I replied to him my mom makes under 20,000. Shes able to support the family back home send me on vacation in the summer, buy me sneakers and gear, I get to eat out for lunch every day at school. If I had your kind of money Id be doing the Harlem shake. Moral of the story, be content with what you have thank Allah for it. Share with your wealth even if its your last 5 dollars. because at the end of the day, even the richest king will be in that grave. Dont let the glitz and glamour of this dunya deceive you. because our final home is in the akhira.
