Bit different today, its raining but gentle and warm. The birds are loving it in my garden. First thing two spikey damp lovelies came up to me for food when I went out. Haul shouted in his usual no nonsense way, but Raspberry is so polite and unassuming with his gentle tuk tuk. I love to see his bright eyes and bald head. Sultanas and mealworms were served up and along came Raspberrys oft companion, the wild juvenile blackbird. Haul rudely took over the food bowl whilst Raspberry tukked crossly nearby. Later I saw Haul attacking the peanut feeder. As I look out at my garden and watch the birds coming to the feeders and birdbaths, I do wonder how one cannot be moved by the sight of a youngster begging from its weary parent, wings vibrating and that clockwork strut! Theres a young sparrow with white wings Ive been looking out for, she was on the feeders today again. I wonder how our little Irish pigeon has fared since set free. I wish her well. Probably Ill put the new male racer in the aviary today. Then theres Peewee who shall be going to his new home to be with two other young gulls. Jenny is so kind taking on these youngsters in her home by the sea. Heres a photo if the two squabs with lofty intentions! Theyre adventurous now and move about the aviary. Yesterday I saw Ami sitting up near Skater rook.
