Bit of a long read this one... I got into electronic music in a big way, back in the mid 90s, I started producing electronic music via music 1998 (playstation) class ^_^ Just realized Ive been Djing 14 years :o 10 of those years I didnt play out.. So, 10 years of practice on Vinyls mixing drum & bass and happy hardcore, before my first official gig out in public, which ended up being minimal techno and dubstep, on cd decks hahaha.. Madness... In 2000 I discovered psytrance and ended up spending 10 years in the scene as a spectator and partaker.. I respected the music too much to head into the scene as a Dj without experience, and what an experience it was...All this time I still decided to only mix dnb, besides, I couldnt find psychedelic trance on vinyl back then, if I did, it was goa and rare, and I wasnt going to sell out by being a cd dj hahaha (So I thought) Ive never actually owned a pair of cd decks and almost all of my professional dj sets have been performed on them.. hehehe So.. 14 years on, I have played at some wicked parties and festivals, UK and international as a Dj and or live act, (Climacteria/CLIM8SHIFT/ paul psr ryder)... I have taught myself how to produce in Reason, Cubase and Ableton.
