Bit of silly facebook fun (entirely optional of course)- courtesy of Mr Shardlow What would be your Desert Island Discs? You can pick eight albums youd take with you if you were marooned on a desert island. The idea is that theyre somewhat autobiographical showing different phases in your life or aspects of your personality. (Ive tried to avoid Best Ofs and give myself some variety since Ill be stuck there for some time...I had a really hard time with this - needed some chilled-out synth/electro in there but all my electronic music is spread over multiple artists and albums damnit) You also get to pick a book (in addition to the pre-selected Bible and complete William Shakespeare) and a luxury (which cant be a living thing or something to help you escape). My picks are: 1. Manic Street Preachers - Generation Terrorists 2. The Arkells - High Noon 3. Idlewild - The Remote Part 4. Therapy? - Troublegum 5. James Horner - Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Original Movie Soundtrack (no, really) 6. The Clash - London Calling (obvs...) 7. Pearl Jam - Ten 8. Billie Holiday - Songs For Distinguished Lovers Book: Well - Ideally Id pick Heathers PhD thesis because Id miss her and I always said Id get around to reading it, but failing that Id pick Surely Youre Joking Mr Feynman? - not a long book, but reading Richard Feynmans memoirs would make it feel like you had an amazing friend to keep you company Luxury: If youre going to be stuck on a desert island... its got to be a surfboard surely! Tis a silly game but Ive tagged a bunch of you because I think youd all give particularly interesting answers: Rebekka, Keith, Gareth, Andrew, Steve, Leith, Robin, Karla, Lizzie, Ian, Claire, Amy, Lucy, Dan, Andy, Burr, Craig, Leon, Shayoni, Adam, Anna, Ferroni, Robert, Philip, Dan, Ilse, Sam, Emily, Frankie, Nick, Samuel, Carl, Jules, Marieke, Andrew, Christine, David, Danielle, Jemma, Suzie, Oliwia
