Black Cat Genome is “Unearthly” Scientist Says Saint Peter, MN – The genetic composition of black cats has recently been under scientific scrutiny, due to a series of meticulous DNA testing at the laboratories of Gustavus Adolphus College. Working on a hunch, award-winning biologist Kimberly Baer, Ph.D, decided to delve into the genome of “Princess”, her black cat, with hopes that the examination would yield unique results. She was not disappointed. “Princess just never acted like any cat Ive never had,” Professor Baer said. “Turns out, scientifically speaking, that she—and all black cats—are unlike any other feline species. I could barely believe my eyes when I received the data. There definitely seems to be something almost alien about her on a genetic level. Of course, anyone owning a black cat can attest to their utter and inexplicable strangness. They are practically Martians.” Although tests are far from conclusive, several thousand petitions have already arrived in Washington D.C. demanding that black cats be placed on the Protected Species List. The White House had no comment.
