Black Faces on the Day of Judgement The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Lower your gaze and protect your honor; otherwise, your faces will be darkened.” [Tabrani] Darkened faces, on the Day of Judgment, will belong to those individuals who are ruined. The people of Jannah will have faces that Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has turned bright and beautiful. Looks on that Day will reflect the piety that the people exhibited in the life of this world – those who lived in awe of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) will be beautiful, while those who ignored Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) will be ugly: “Many faces, on that day, will be bright, laughing, rejoicing, and many faces, on that day, will be stained with dust, covered by darkness. Those are the disbelievers, the nefarious.” [Quran: Surah Abasa, Ayaat 38-42] “Those are the ones for whom there is a grave punishment, on a day when some faces shall turn bright, and some faces shall turn dark. As for those whose faces turn dark, (they shall be questioned): ‘Did you disbelieve after you had accepted the Faith? Now taste the punishment, because you used to disbelieve.’ As for those whose faces turn bright, they will rest in Allah’s mercy. They will live there forever.” [Quran: Surah Aal-e-Imran, Ayaat 105-107] Invest your time in Istighfaar “To ALLAH we belong and to ALLAH we return (2:156)”
