Black History 202: Tricks One of the most famous images from Egyptian artwork is the bust of the woman known as Nefertiti (Nefer Neferu Aten). In actuality she was a Mitanni (Syrian) Princess named Tadukhipa, who was the daughter of Tushratta (Dushratta) King of Mitanni. Tadhukipa was sent for by AmenHotep III (Amen Hetep III) but did not arrive until he was deceased. The princess therefore married his son AmenHotep IV, in total violation of tradition (marrying of a foreign woman as Queen Mother in a matrilineal society)*. AmenHotep IV would later attempt to change the rule of One God acting through multiple agencies (angEls**) to the worship of the sun (Aten)-a material item- and change his name to AkhenAten. It is no wonder that she is the most popular and widely promoted Egyptian image and that her burial site remains a mystery (sent away). With several hundred black Queen-Mothers and female images, she is had been cleverly promoted as the standard of beauty in Ancient Egypt. See Buttles, Amen and Petrie. _______________ *Of course the same would have been true for the father AmenHotep III, or any other King **Called gods and dieties by Western scholars
