Black Square Trailers: The Malevich Effect (Dial M for Murder) This piece is the trailer from Dial M for Murder (Director: Alfred Hitchcock ), 1954. Its configuration within the confines of the Black Square move it in the direction of Suprematism with a kinetic component that incorporates the sound track. The piece is in keeping with many of Malevichs Suprematist pieces that are painted on a slant, and simulate the geometry of terrain/objects seen in an aerial photograph. It involves the incongruity of a past generations narrative/dialogue blended with Abstract Expressionism (AE) in its kinetic form; and whats even more interesting is the fact that this form is of itself ... the movie trailer. For optimal viewing, use the HD setting. Web page: tomrchambers/bsttme.html
