Black Woman Shot Dead in White Detroit Suburb After Knocking Door-to-Door for Help...After a Car Accident On November 4, 2013. Black female teenager, 19-year-old Renisha McBride, was shot in the head by a 50 year old man. It was a white suburban Neighborhood. But the Police have not released the name of the shooter yet. She died of the gunshot wound to the head after knocking on the door of a home for help in Detroit, Michigan. Her family says that the teenager went for help after a car accident around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Her cellphone battery had died, her family said. While Dearborn Heights authorities have refused to release details of the investigation, they have identified the person who fired the shot and killed the woman. We are not going to let him get away with this senseless act he committed against this 19-year-old girl, Rev. W.J. Rideout told Detroit News. Bernita Spinks, who is McBride’s aunt, said the shooting was not justified. “He shot her in the head … for what? For knocking on his door,” said Spinks on Tuesday. “If he felt scared or threatened, he should have called 911.” The family met with officials from the Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday. They believe that McBride was racially profiled. This is an all too familiar incident. Just a little over a month ago, 24-year-old Jonathan Ferrell was shot and killed by police after seeking help after a car accident. And they want Us to Just Forget.
