Black lives matter. ALL lives matter. We are living in a time graced with the largest leaps and gains in innovation, globalization and mass communication, yet inequality and injustice reigns in plain site. We as a country can not afford to ignore the limitations of a system that affords a human to take the life of another - even in broad day light. As a servant of the people, I can attest that we take an oath to PROTECT and SERVE, FAITHFULLY. I want to be clear, in my opinion the problem doesnt rest solely in law enforcement. Not every police officer is racist, just as not every black person is a criminal. The problem rests within our ENTIRE society, that collectively has allowed a system to survive that provides room for a passive response when justice knocks. We ALL have work to do and we must do it together. The residue of racism is real and still exists. Racism is a threat to all people, not just black people and is rooted in hate and ignorance. We must accept the truth and use it in love to set free the oppressed and the oppressor. There is a quiet genocide of African American life occurring across this nation. The statistics prove it and the legal decisions allow it. The struggle is real and continues. Dont accept the status quo. The future depends on it. Prayers and Peace to all.
