BlackBerry BBM for iOS, Android release date yet to be confirmedJuly 23, 2013 | Filed under: Business | Posted by: admin There is unprecedented enthusiasm for this great app, but BlackBerry BBM for iOS, Android release date is yet to be confirmed BlackBerry may be down and out and its shares may be crashing faster than anything else, but there seem to be a lot of enthusiasm for its BBM for Android and iOS app. A few months ago, the Canadian company had made announcement to offer the BBM to even non-BlackBerry handset users from Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android, and this is going to become a reality pretty soon. There are reasons to believe that this will become among the most popular apps on both Google Play and Apple store in no time as even those people who are no BlackBerry handsets fans know pretty well that this is the most efficient service of its kind by any company in any part of the world. In the meantime the Ontario, Canada based company is struggling when it comes to its latest handsets. When it had outed its new handset last year, it had believed that it will regain the acceptability and the lead that it enjoyed a few years ago within no time. But alas this was not going to be true. Both its full touch screen handsets and QWERTY handsets have not got the sort of response the Canadian company was expecting. Even after huge price cuts there are not many takers for its handsets. meanwhile BlackBerry’s BBM instant messaging app for Android and iOS won’t come on June 27 as it was earlier rumored. Official sources now indicate that it would come before this summer. However, some Android handsets may come before that with the BBM pre-installed. By the way, the official BBM for Android is linked with a late-September 2013 release date. As far as BlackBerry BBM for Android and iOS is concerned, this may make BlackBerry service popular, but may not contribute to increased sales of its handsets. Sometime back, Sunil Lalvani, managing director of BlackBerry India, had admitted that we could expect BBM for Android within the next couple of months. In fact, BlackBerry earlier said that the app would roll out early summer, but now it seems that it will come late-September only. “The service is coming to Android this summer. But summer as per North America, where it remains till September,” said Lalvani. Now, BlackBerry has officially admitted that BBM for Android and iOS would come by late September. Even though, the BlackBerry executive didn’t announce the exact release date of the app. There are people who suggest that Blackberry handsets sales may go down further with the launch of new app. “BlackBerry hasn’t been particularly forthcoming about a specific release date although summer is now very much underway, so the service could appear inside Google Play and Apple’s App Store very soon,” writes Know Your Mobile. BBM, as everyone knows, is one of the most unerring USPs of BlackBerry over the years. Even if its software platforms failed to attract customers repeatedly, its IM service BBM has been a big success. It has been largely awaited by Android and iOS users to get the BBM for their platforms also. BBM can be a big competitor to WhatsApp as well as iMessage when it comes to Google Play Store and iOS App Store. It is a nice experience to lead instant messaging on the BlackBerry IM app that can be a better addition to the service on Android and iOS devices now.
