Blackpool Airport Closure – Transfer of Jet2 & Jet2holidays Flights to Manchester Airport It has been announced today, by the owners of Blackpool Airport, that the Airport is to close on 15 October 2014. Although the Airport remains open until 15 October, the considerable uncertainty in recent weeks over its future has already led to the withdrawal of key 3rd party facilities, without notice, that have seriously impacted on the operation of our aircraft from and to Blackpool Airport. Therefore and in the interests of our Customers, with effect from 10 October and until further notice, Jet2’s services that were scheduled to operate from Blackpool Airport will operate instead from and to Manchester Airport. Jet2 regrets having to make this decision, but we need to ensure that the air travel plans of our Jet2 and Jet2holidays Customers are protected. All Jet2 & Jet2holidays Customers booked on flights from and to Blackpool Airport from 10 October, will be moved, free of charge, to flights from and to Manchester Airport. We are in the process of emailing all travel agents, affected by these changes, with details of alternative flights and the information below gives an indication of what those alternatives will be. For flights departing Blackpool Airport up to and including 9 October 2014 Flights from Blackpool Airport will operate as scheduled and your customers should arrive at Blackpool Airport for their flights as normal . If your customers flight back to Blackpool Airport was due to return on or before the 25 October this flight will now operate 90 minutes later than originally scheduled and will be into Manchester Airport, where there will be coaches to return your customer to Blackpool airport, if required. Courtesy coaches will operate from Manchester Airport to Blackpool Airport until 31 October. For flights booked to depart Blackpool Airport from 10 October 2014 up to 6 January 2015 Our Pre Travel Services Team will be emailing travel agents, today, with alternative flight details. All flights will operate from and to Manchester Airport. Flights operating between 10 October and 25 October inclusive will operate from and to Manchester Airport 90 minutes later than originally scheduled from and to Blackpool Airport. From 26 October to 6 January all departure times from and to Manchester Airport will be as originally scheduled from and to Blackpool Airport. For flights booked to depart Blackpool Airport from 7 January 2015 onwards Our Pre Travel Services team will be emailing travel agents, with alternative flight details and you should receive these by Tuesday 14 October.
