Blair Rossiter Isnt it funny the mind games you play with yourself when you going fishing. My first 20lber was caught after a day of putting out a huge berley trail in the middle of August of the rocks at Tongoio. Having contemplating putting a bait in front of the eagle ray in the trail in front I told myself no a big snap will swim by where your bait was as soon as you pull it in and within minutes I was on. 9.2kg weighed by Crafty just after Guns and Tackle opened. Just tonight here in north QLD I popped down to the rocks hoping for a barra before the season closes mid day Saturday. Looked at the phone in the console and thought back to the many times I have caught fish and have no pics,only memories like the 30+lb snapper caught with Mavis in the Coromandal. Any way I made the conscious decision to leave the phone with its flash camera in the glove box. Landed my PB Mangrove Jack tonight all 45.5cm. On 20lb braid hard in the rocks it was a thumping fight with only a metre or 2 of line taken. No pic just the memory and a torn up soft plastic! Even gave a little double fist pump as he swam away.Some thing about watching a big crimson red fish swim off. Stoked!
