Blake has his go-home session with his owners tomorrow morning. We are putting him through a few gauntlets of drills to make sure that he is spot on with his commands. Many times dogs do wonderfully with us, but there is always a little bit of struggle with the owners at first because of all the bad history between dog and owner. We had a lot of bad habits to break of Blakes and we will have to make sure his owners are able to follow through and keep him on the straight and narrow. This requires a lot of change from them as well to not do what didnt work in the past and keep him towing the line when he gets back to his comfort zone with all of the new techniques and tools we have engaged for everyones success. I did all four of his feet muzzle-less before this and he did VERY well considering where our relationship started off with just general touching, let alone man handling and manicures ;-) . So after his reward for nail trimming I decided to have fun and I took one hot dog piece at a time and rolled them toward him on place. It was a challenge as he KNEW they were hot dogs and it was hard not to want to chase after the quick rolling little pieces. To challenge him even more I took it one step further after that fun and decided to call him through the mine field of hot dog pieces. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
