#BlastFromThePast In 2010, former head of state Gen. Buhari - TopicsExpress

#BlastFromThePast In 2010, former head of state Gen. Buhari found a way to penetrate some Nigerians in the United Kingdom. His message to them was simple: launder my image and sell me to Nigerians and the world so I can become Nigerias president again; this time, not through the barrel of the gun but via the contents of a ballot box. He gave them some loose change (not bribe) with which to get their equipment (laptops and snacks) ready for the job. And so, many Nigerians in Queens land quit their 9-5 menial jobs and swung into action: started dressing and talking like Buhari on Facebbok, as well as defending him from left, right and center. They ate, smelled, breathed and slept with Buhari on their minds. For those on welfare or social assistance, what could be better than that? They began to paint Buhari angelic white; they commenced what Fela would have simply referred to as magic. They started obfuscating and distorting simple, basic facts about Buhari. They fasted and prayed for more than a year for Buhari to win, purely due to their own very selfish agenda and desires; not at all for their love for Nigeria. Nasir El-Rufai and Mallam Ribadu also met with them on countless occasions and of course lobbied for their support with greasing-of-the-palms incentives. I hear you asking where this long story is headed. Please, bear with me. Im gonna speed things up. Before I get to my question, I beseech you to first read the following (unedited) email (will be a mystery to them how I obtained it) one Roz Ben-Okagbue wrote some U.K. based Nigerians after they met and plotted their gang up against Jonathan Goodluck in 2010 (and adopted Buhari as their consensus candidate). From: Roz Ben-Okagbue To: odamisi2000@yahoo; dupsie77@yahoo; Sent: Sun, 18 April, 2010 3:20:39 Subject: Re: Menuite of the meeting (IBB) Hi All, ...I am more interested in stopping IBB. Just out of interest, are you guys really serious about Buhari.....the man is old and not a very good technocrat. He is not exceptionally corrupt like IBB and OBJ but he is most definitely not capable. He was ousted after 12 months of being in power by IBB largely because he could not hold it together and he has literally been thrown out of his own party following a vote of no confidence hence he has gone to start a new one. He is anti Southerners and very extremist in his views and outlook. Perhaps a little more research might not go amiss. I think we should be looking at younger, more vibrant candidates with a more modern approach and with proven experience. Duke, Ribadu, El Rufai and Pat Utomi all fit that bill. There are also countless others. It may be a bit premature to decide who to support as not all have declared their intentions yet. NOTE: Roz was not interested in stopping IBB because of her love for democracy; it was because of a business deal gone sour between her husband and the dictator. Below is Kayode Ogundamisis response to Rozs email: From: Kayode Ogundamisi To: mamaroz6@yahoo; dupsie77@yahoo; Sent: Sun, 18 April, 2010 0:11:30 Subject: Re: Minutes of the meeting (IBB) Dear All, I have just gone trough the minutes of the meeting. Well done for the deliberations. However I would want to restrict myself at the advocacy level beyond supporting one candidate or the other. This is not in anyway belittling the suggestion...However I prefer at this point to concentrate my efforts on making sure IBB and every other character with the traits of IBB do not come to wreak havoc on us again. May God continue to bless you all and many thanks again for your wisdom. Kayode Ogundamisi NOTE: Ogundamisi was shortly bought over by Buhari and he in turn used his own loose change to buy over so many Nigerians (from different tribes) and they began to doctor, cook up, cast and bind stories aimed at repackaging their paymaster while destroying and painting Jonathan with devilish black. Remember that he wrote the following in his email: ...to concentrate my efforts on making sure IBB and every other character with the traits of IBB do not come to wreak havoc on us again. Well, hello, between Jonathan and Buhari, who has the same characteristic traits as Ibrahim Babangida? He has continued with his lies till date; after the polls. And if you take your time to study their write ups on social media, particularly Facebook, youll notice that 90.1% of all the status posts or updates and comments coming from Nigerians in the U.K. go along one very parochial line and I cannot help but wonder why this is so. I know so many other people who are in the same boat as me. Against this backdrop, please permit me to ask: between Nigerians resident in the United Kingdom and those in North America, whom do you think are better informed about Nigeria as well as call a spade a spade when it comes to issues affecting Nigeria and Nigerians (with no ulterior motives at the back of their minds?
