Blasting to prepare for the new tunnel on the east end of Louisville is scheduled to occur near the intersection of U.S. 42 and KY 841 during the week of July 15. The dates and approximate times will be: - Monday, July 15 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Tuesday, July 16 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Wednesday, July 17 at about 2:27 and 2:30 p.m. - Thursday, July 18 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Friday, July 19 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. On each day, prior to the blasts, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the travelling public. Traffic stops during the blasts will occur on KY 841 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and U.S. 42, and on U.S. 42 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and Bridgepointe Boulevard. If unfavorable weather conditions at the time of a scheduled blast are expected, the blast time may be moved to earlier that day – to about noon.
