Blessed Imbolc to all my friends today. Blackbirds are - TopicsExpress

Blessed Imbolc to all my friends today. Blackbirds are collecting nesting material, as are the Rooks opposite my house. The Great Tits are singing their Spring song and theres a reasonable beginnings of a dawn and dusk chorus now. Snowdrops are coming out everywhere. Signs that the wheel is turning and the earth is stirring from sleep. I have been out walking this afternoon, being almost blown over by very strong winds, soaked twice by the heavy downpours of sleety rain, dazzled by sunshine and gladdened by patches of blue sky and a couple of lovely rainbows. Few birds to be seen apart from swans on the floodwater, a few large flocks of Redwings, a Kestrel and flocks of Jackdaws having fun windsurfing . The hazel catkins were dancing wildly in the breeze like lambs tails. The Alder catkins are changing to that wonderful purple hue. I had hoped to watch the starlings this evening but the clouds arrived and the rain started again...so decided not to get wet again. Wild Imbolc weather!
