Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.(Matt 5:5) - TopicsExpress

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.(Matt 5:5) Should read in our minds: Blessed are the tempered and purposeful, for they shall inherit the ability to handle important matters at hand concerning us all.. But why do I say this...heres why... Meek translated correctly does not mean weak. The two words rhyme. Our mind looks for similarities to define and categorize words for easier recall. However, the inference made in this verse is more closely associated with hardened and tender, as in after you work out, your muscles are meek?,....No. Meek doest carry the thought that your muscles are tired and sore from heavy exertion, but given rest, they are equipped to carry heavier loads... The better translation of meek in this context is: Tempered 1. (Adj): brought to the desired hardness or strength by heating and cooling. a : having the elements mixed in satisfying proportions : temperate b : qualified, lessened, or diluted by the mixture or influence of an additional ingredient : moderated c : to exercise control over : govern, restrain d : to make stronger and more resilient through hardship : toughen e : to put in tune with something : attune f : to adjust the pitch of (a note, chord, or instrument) to a temperament Greek Translation -Meek: Praus: mild, gentle Original Word: πραΰς, πραεῖα, πραΰ Part of Speech: Adjective Transliteration: praus Phonetic Spelling: (prah-ooce) Short Definition: mild, gentle Definition: mild, gentle.
