Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, hell receive the crown of life. (Ja 1:12) What do we do when problems come unannounced & with great intensity? James said to count it all joy because trials dont happen without a reason. Armed with this understanding, our prayer changes from asking God why to thanking Him for what Hes doing. Having endured many trials & in 2009 facing a new struggle with cancer, I wrote in my daily journal: Ive relinquished my testing to Gods will. Nothing, praise God, not even cancer, can thwart His will. I may have cancer, but cancer doesnt have me - God alone has me! Trials are unavoidable & unpredictable & they come in an unimaginable variety. Knowing that our sovereign God will walk with us & use trials to deepen our maturity. we can count them all joy. WHAT WE CANT LOSE!!!
