Blessings from the Lowcountry 2014 A lot has happened since - TopicsExpress

Blessings from the Lowcountry 2014 A lot has happened since last year. I am out of my home because it was discovered in early 2014 that I had a cancer that could not be cured so I was moved from my home to an assisted living facility in July. So this letter is being written in my email account since I do not have my old computer with Word since it was stripped of everything, all my old records, photos and letters so it can be given away. Now this is all fine with me since I live for the glory of Christ and life is full of transitions. So my current transition is to abandon everything I had in my home and past life and give away or sell it while I am still alive so I can come to the facility unencumbered. I also have Mel Klein, my husband, helping me in spirit every step of the way. Giving away beauty, because I had many beautiful things, some more functional than others, and I do admit that I miss some of these possessions since they have been in my life often for 50 or more years, has been difficult. I grew attached. But getting ready to give up my life at some undetermined time, although I can live for years, means giving up these tiny pieces that look like small pieces of my heart all dribbled out behind me when I look backward with my memories yet my spirit tells me not to stop and pick them up again. My house will be sold when a buyer shows up and while it was not my favorite house of all of them I did love living in it. One of the things I do want to continue, is the Starnes-Thampson Reunion of 2015 even if I cant be there and Tom Starnes, who so graciously hosted the one in 2013 will be hosting this one. Every year we meet new parts of the family and it will be a joyous time. From now on you can reach Tom at email Tom Starnes ,and cell phone 903 571 4937. Tom can also be contacted on Facebook. The dates will be Saturday, June 13th and Sunday June 14th. Saturday will be at Natural Tunnel State Park, and Sunday at the Steakhouse in Norton. The picnic starts at noon and the dinner at the Steakhouse starts at 2PM. My old records and photos have been given to Kim Rogers, and for copies of the past photos I have handed out before, her number is 406 490 8376. If you want to send me a card or note, I am living at: Morningside Assisted Living, 2628 North Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440. I want all my friends and family to know how much having them in my life has meant, a glowing gift that warms me still. Know I have no fear. Many times in the bible we are told, Be not afraid and I believe it. So stay in touch and if you dont hear anything, my lawyer and friend, Dan Stacy and his assistant Sonya will know what is happening. Their number is 843 235 6747. Over the years, my skill in organization has been my strength and I have tried to apply it here. If I forgot anything my cell is 843 231 1212. You can text me if you prefer. I do not have a land line any longer. May you have wonderful blessings this Christmas and New Year Season and believe that I am happy and content. I will write again.
