I have been at the shelter since Nov 15, 2013. Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal: Smokey is deaf and mostly blind. He is a sweet little guy, but will require a special adopter. He likes socialize with people and when he gets excited, he makes a very loud, high-pitched vocalization (it sounds like he is hurt but he is actually really happy!) we think it is because he cant hear himself speak. He came to us as a stray, so we dont know much about him. He will require a behavior consult and a meet and greet with any other dogs in the home. We are also requiring that all members of the household meet Smokey at the shelter before bringing him home.
