Block Development Office holds Gram Sabha News(02.10.2013) JAMMU: As part of celebration of birth anniversary of Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, a Gram Sabha was held in panchayat Amala of block Barnoti, Distt kathua. Block Development Officer, Sukriti Sharma, Inspector panchayats Ram Dayal,Sarpanch,Jagdish Singh Jasrotia alongwith all the panchayat members, Gram Sabha members and officials of rural development department were present on the occasion. The members of the Gram Sabha were informed about the approved shelf of the projects under MGNREGA and also the Annual Shelf of Projects for the year 2014-15 was formulated by the panchayat. Besides, the beneficiaries to be covered under Indra Awaas Yojana for the year 2014-15 were also identified in the Gram Sabha. The Block development officer informed that the purpose of holding the Gram Sabha is to ensure maximum transparency and community participation besides implementation of various government directions issued in this regard in letter and spirit. She further informed that such Gram Sabhas will be held in all the Panchayats of the Block during this month and the plan under MGNREGA and IAY will be formulated. SRINAGAR KASHMIR LADAKH
