Maybe I admit I was leaning on him a bit more than I should have because my husband was being a grade A jackass and maybe I gave him the wrong idea but that ends now, Alessandro. I told him that we can’t ever be more than friends because…well…idiot that I am, I’m in love with my husband.” Bree leaned over and stroked Alessandro’s cheek. He grinned at her. “Well, then I have a bit of a confession to make. Colin said some things to me and the sound of his voice irritated me so I had one of those clowns with the big red noses in the paediatric wing turn him into a balloon animal. A giraffe I’m afraid. Sad fate it was,” Alessandro joked with no sign of remorse at all. “Stop that!” Bree said laughing. He kissed her hand. “I was so afraid I’d never see you smile again. Brianna, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you happy, trying to make up for what I put you through. You believe me, don’t you?” Alessandro asked, turning her palm and kissing it. “I believe that you love me. That’s all the happiness I need. I also believe that you did say something to Colin that you’re not telling me, right? What, something along the lines off, ‘keep your mitts of my wife’?” “I did not,” Alessandro insisted. “Well…I didn’t say ‘mitts’ anyway.”
