Bloody Mary More the newest and Most Distinct Red Neocaridina Shrimp . One of the Most misunderstood and easiest to identify as well . Some of the things that make this one Unique are its Glowing Ruby Red Body Color that expresses the strongest as a mature female specimen . The Body is somewhat transparent and the glow seems to come from inside . Another unique trait is in the males . They are a dark almost black red and seem to occur much less frequently than the females . Of course thats not bad as your tank will be redder and brighter that way . There seem to be a lot of myths about this shrimp the first one being that it does not breed true . That is utter nonsense as I have found it to be one of the truest breeding Neocaridina there are . Also unfortunately a few sellers are selling top color Painted Fire Red as Bloody Mary . A dead giveaway should be that the red looks to good to be true and that the body is a solid thick shelled red . Another thing to bring up is that people often try to mix them with their cherry or other red shrimp in hopes of Brightening the Cherries . That does not happen at all and it you will loose the Bloody Mary Characteristics . Since it is so distinct it is not a good idea to mix it with any red strain of Neo . It took a long time for the breeder to separate and Isolate those characteristics then by crossbreeding you loose that brilliant ruby red and get more of the cherry into the strain something that took years to get out . By the way thats true for all neo strains so much better to keep them as a single strain .
