Blow for Dundee Stars as Matt Ryan departs . Canadian forward Matt Ryan, who was also Dundee Stars’ Assistant Coach, is retiring from professional hockey for personal reasons and will fly home to Canada tomorrow. Dundee Stars management would like to thank Matt for his contribution this season and wish him well in the future. Stars’ Head Coach, Jeff Hutchins, said today, It’s disappointing that Matt has decided to leave, and I’m sad to see him go, but we are a family club and family always comes first. I’d like to thank Matt and wish him all the best. The Stars hope to be in a position to announce a replacement in the next couple of days. Jeff added, It’s not an ideal situation for the club but we will move on. I’ve already spoken to a few players and hope to have someone in very soon.
