Blsd 11 August family. I trust we had a wonderful weekend and we ar ready to face another week with high expectations to all God planned for us in this week. As we start this week I wanna share on the subject PRAISING GOD FOR ETERNAL THINGS. Let me start by saying in my walk with God there used to be times where I found it difficult to praise God. I would praise Him or thank Him for all the material things that I had at that time. I would come to a place where I wd run out of praise items and at that point I would call it a day. As I progressed in my walk with God, the Word revealed to me that there was more to praise. Yes its not bad to praise God for material things but I learned that all these things were temporal, there was something more worthy to thank God and these things were eternal or everlasting. When I looked up the word Eternal or Everlasting I discovered it meant without end. So when I looked bk at my material praise items I noticed that they all came to an end at some point in time. So this discovery caused me to shift my value and focus from material things that are here today and gone tomorrow, I wanted to know more on those things that were Everlasting or Eternal, things that I wd place high value and focus on and this was my discovery and I trust u wl b lsd too. 1 Applied to Trinity The first and most thing to know is that the word Eternal/Everlasting is applied to Trinity thus God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as follows: Psalms 90:2 - Before the mountains were born or u brought forth the earth from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Psalms 8:23 referring to Christ says I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning before the world began. Heb 9:14 on the Holy Spirit says - How much more then will the blood of Christ who thru the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death so that we may serve the living God. 2. Applied to Gods attributes After looking at Trinity we wl discover the word eternal or everlasting is also attached to Gods attributes in this manner: 1 Home - Eccl 12:5 When man ar afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets when the almond tree blosom and the grasshoper drag himself along and desire nolonger is stirred. Then man goes to his eternal home and mourners go abt the street. 2 Power - Roms 1:20 From time the world was created pple hv seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature so they hv no excuse for not knowing God. 3 Covenant - -Isaiah 55:3 Come to me with all your ears wide open listen for the life of your soul is at stake. Iam ready to make an everlasting covenant with you I wl give u all the mercies and unfailing love that I promised to David. 4 The Goodnews - Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel flying thru the heavens carrying the everlasting goodnews to preach to the pple who belong to this world, to every nation, tribe language and pple. 5 Justice - Psalms 119:142 Your justice is eternal and your law is perfectly true. 6 Kingdom - Psalms 145:13 For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, you rule generation after generation 7 Faithfulness - Psalms 100:5 For the Lord is good his unfailing love continues forever and his faithfulness continues to each generation 7 Love - Jer 31:3 Long ago the Lord said to israel I hv loved u my pple with an everlasting love with unfailing love I hv drawn u to myself 8 Father - Isaiah 9:6 For a child is born to us a son is given to us, and the government wl rest upon his shoulders. This wl be his royal titles ..wonderful councelor, mighty God, everlasting father and prince of peace. So u can al see the above items that if we are to expand on each verse surely we wl not manage to praise Him in jst two mins and run out of words.
