Blue Angel Result The Bryan Police Officers Association hosted its 3nd annual Blue Angel Tree. Blue Angel is organized by the Bryan Police Officers Association and is a holiday project designed to help the less fortunate families in our city during the holiday season. Christmas is a time to gather with friends and family and give thanks for the gifts and good fortunes we have received We would like to thank HEB, Walmart, Advanced Security Concepts, The National Honor Society at Sam Rayburn Middle School and the rest of the community for its overwhelming support this holiday season. We were able to supply presents and a Christmas meal to 35 families with 118 children plus presents to 19 elderly at local residential facilities. A member of the Spanish Citizens Police Academy who has helped with numerous events for the Bryan Police Department received a surprise when we handed out gifts last Saturday. Her children were placed on the tree and after she and her children helped carry presents down the stairs for all the other families she and her children were given presents of their own. With the outstanding response from the community in monetary donations this year we are also providing a private party at Painting with a Twist (Painting with a Twist discounted the price) for 13 girls and 2 staff members at Restore Her, which is home to victims of human trafficking, donating items such as underwear and socks to BISD for the students who are homeless and to the St. Joseph Pediatric Ward.
