Blue Screen Excuse Digs the Hole Deeper Lerner came to work one day in late spring 2011 and was surprised to flick on her computer to find a “blue screen,” her attorney said. Now lets look at the main reasons for a blue screen. 1. This dreaded blue screen contains an error message warning that your system has shut down to prevent computer damage. Booting from the Windows CD and clicking repair fixes a majority of the problems without damaging any of the data or documents on your drive. After wards it is normal to update and do a thorough scan using anti-virus and malware utility software. 2. Normally, the blue screen on boot would have been due to a bad driver, which does not usually happen unless there was an update to a piece of hardware the day before. 3. If it was a software problem, the recovery drive software would have reloaded to fix the problem 99% of the time. 4. A blue screen tied to the boot manager files would mean they some how got corrupted. However, separate boot utility software starts the computer so the technician can get to the c:\ prompt to rebuild the boot manager file, which only happens on very, very rare ocassions. It would also allow the technician to attach a USB external hard drive or thumb drive to copy all documents off of the drive prior to having to reformat and reload from scratch. I have only seen Problem 4 show up once since 1995, and the computer was experiencing problems for the two months prior to the crash and still did not necessitate installing a new hard drive or the loss of documents. In fact the only time I have seen where a hard drive had to be replace was due to a coffee spill. So supeana the work order and technician to see what type of problem caused the blue screen. Her attorneys archival excuse is lame, because if her emails were backup prior and after the missing period of time, then these excuses dont hold water.
