Blue-tailed Bee-eater (Merops philippinus) 11 1/2 inches. There were not too many birds in Candaba so I decided to entertain myself by taking pictures of this Blue-tailed Bee-eater about to land on his perch. Although it was quite bright I took this picture with a high ISO to set the shutter speed high enough to freeze the wings. What was revealing and prominent in this picture was the blue color of its tail as the name of the bird implies. To see a larger picture place cursor over the picture of the bird and right click.
