Bluegrass and BBQ Festival at SDC starting this Thursday! Get ready for some sweet-sounding, soulful rhythms, finger licking good food and thrilling performances May 8th – June 1st at the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival at Silver Dollar City. As one of the best Bluegrass events of the year, the festival will feature some the top musicians in the genre, accompanied by great BBQ flavors like Memphis Dry Rub, Original-Style, Hickory Smoked and South Carolina Mustard. There will be over 60 groups performing including Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Special Consensus, The Boxcars, Joe Mullins & Radio Ramblers, Balsam Range, Flatt Lonesome, The Gibson Brothers, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Blue Highway, Lonesome River Band, Kruger Brothers and many more. One of the main events of the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival at #SDC is the 13th Annual KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Band Competition. The competition features 20 different bands, each member 21 years old or younger, from all over the U.S. competing to win cash and prizes, as well as the first place title. Each day in Reunion Hall from 3:00 p.m. until the park closes, visitors will gather to enjoy the All-You-Can-Eat Rib Feast. They will be serving up SDC favorites like their delicious ribs in a variety of different flavors, beef brisket, smoked pork, chicken or sausage, salad bar and dessert. The House of BBQ at Red Gold Heritage Hall will also be serving tasty BBQ sandwiches, dinner entrees like beef, pork, chicken or rib plates, sides like homemade potato salad, baked beans, roasted corn and dinner rolls, kid’s menu options and desserts. They will even have options from Richard’s Hawg Wild BBQ and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Also be sure to stop by the Bottle Neck Bros.
