Bo Burrup, or, as he’s known in the Maryland Baltimore Mission, Elder Burrup, became kind of a big deal on August 29th, when he was asked to throw out the first pitch at the LDS Family Night for the Baltimore Orioles. Burrup, a dominating high school pitcher from Pocatello (ID) was highly recruited from many of the top baseball powerhouse colleges, and received letters of interest from 5 MLB teams. Burrup turned down all the opportunities to serve an LDS mission. According to the Deseret News, Burrup will play baseball for BYU on scholarship after his mission. ht.ly/B54US
