Boarding at MARBLE ROCKS Part 2: This one is all about how I first perceived, met/ did anything with all you people. Topping the chart is Mr. Abhayraj – A little FULJHADI wanting to be the ROCKET. Abhay’s family was his Aladdin’s Magic Carpet. For him we were all his minions. Our first meeting, this guy came to me and showed off his clout. Me being me, I didn’t say anything but thought to myself ABEY SALA! PIDDI KAHIN KA! ISKO PEETNE KE LIYE TOH SELF DEFENCE KI BHI ZARURAT NAHI HAI. Dev Ganguly- This guy had serious authority issues. He had survival instincts that made him friends with everyone but dependent on no one. It is for this reason most people weren’t particularly fond of him. Dev had the same fortune of meeting Abhay Raj. They had some encounter in the garden near our director’s house which escalated quickly into a fight Abhay hit Dev from behind. The blow was strong enough that Dev was knocked out unconscious. We had to take him to the emergency room and I thought ITNA CHOTA SA BANDA HAI AGAR RASSI BANDH KE FAN KE SAMNE FULL SPEED ME KHADA HO JAYE TO SHAYAD PATANG BAN JAYE, ISME ITNI HIMMAT AAYI KAHAN SE. BAAD ME PATA CHALA KI MENTAL THA. Solely on this basis, the Director rusticated Abhay the very next day. The school was now a nicer place. Nishant Tiwari- SAB PE PADE BHAARI. Fondly called THE GIANT. I met this guy along with Shivam while walking towards the school and my first thought was this guy must be someone’s bodyguard because he was so huge and looked intimidating. Turned out, he was our batch mate and he was one of the Gentle Giant League. He was the house captain for Vindhayachal house, which was on the top in the house chart competing with Nilgiri. Shivam Dubey- was our excellent athelete who was also good on the academics platform. He was a favourite amongst our director and other authorities. I don’t have any particular memory of him but we have been friends for as long as I can recall. Nitin Rasik- Was our day boarding Daredevil. As long as he was there all he wanted to do was Boxing which unfortunately for him was the privilege for Boarders only. This guy was a born boxer, completely fearless but never really could learn it. (Tough luck). Preshit Sahare- was our Poker face Joker. He is one of those people who keeps quite for most part of any conversation but when he does open his mouth you will either end up rolling around in laughter/ seriously feeling very embarrassed. My favourite memory of the man is him avoiding bowling if I was batting because I would always hit sixes. Sumit Sanodia- was again one of a kind. He was an extremely quiet guy. All we knew about him was he really liked one of the girls in our class and due to this he was subjected to a lot of leg pulling. This guy had a talent for the stare-out game. Rahul Pandey- You kaminey! I met him at summer and we hit it off immediately. This guy’s existence is the prime example of Darwinian Theory of survival of the fittest. This guy can adapt and survive anywhere. He had a knack for making friends wherever he goes. Nitin Saraswat , Avijit Singh, Aditya Khare, Prageet Dubey , Abhishek Agnihotri- are the guys I don’t really have first memory with but I remember them at some point or the other. I remember the nick names for some of them. Avijit – Suar Prageet – Paggi/ Murgi Aditya was the guest appearance member in our gang and was a day boarder who got caught while bunking the school with Nitin and going for the movie. They both were punished in front of the whole school. :D Abhishek was yet another guy who was extremely good at sports. Mala, Neelima and Priyanka – were the only females in our immediate vicinity. Mala was the quite one, Neelima was the chirpy one and Priyanka was the quietest one who was almost always studying. I didn’t really interact with them for quite some time so I don’t really have much to share about them at this point. Om Sharma- was my first boxing buddy. We used to train together. This man has no sense of time. He is almost always late everywhere. His entry would provoke the dialogue ‘ OM AAYA” and led to him being named OM-LATE. This guy is one of my closest friends till date. Raunaq Singh Suhag- was a Court Jester. He was my GAINDA (See RHINO). He was also as thick skinned as a Rhino. This guy could get away from any trouble simply by talking. Our friendship strengthened post Om’s departure from school. He became friends with me because I yelled at him to make him realize that people were taking advantage of him because he was the director’s nephew. Those 45 mins of yelling made absolute sense to him. The following day, he asked me to repeat it all and after that we became inseparable. To tell you the truth, SAB KE SAB NAMOONE THE. The fact that all of us were such different individuals yet stayed together is what made our class special.
